Samandarian, An Eternal Master

Sunday, July 13th is the anniversary of Master Hamid Samandarian who had taught many students during last five decades and left precious heritage in directing and education of Iran's theatre.
Iran Theater- Hamid Samandarian was born on May 6th 1931 in Tehran, an Iranian great master who had had unforgettable influences on Iranian theatre for several decades.
He had studied in Germany for years and returned in 60s to Iran with such a high energy to share his knowledge with other Iranian theatre artists that caused him to establish his situation on both theatre directing and education. In this way, many of artists from veteran to youth, familiar to stranger count themselves as his students and followers. This is the secret of his eternity that all theatre family are talking about his precious heritage.
Jamshid Mashayekhi, veteran cinema and theatre actor believes that Samandarian brought a new method to Iranian theatre which it can be seen mostly in choosing plays.
Esmaeel Shangaleh said that the greatest influence of Samandarian on Iranian theatre was in two fields;first it was on choosing modern plays instead of Lalehzari ones and second in bringing acting.
His influence wasnot only in training new generations but in creating an atmosphere to make several knowlegeble generations of Iranian actors,As Payam Dehkordi said.
Beside his artistic aspects, Dehkordi believes that his moral attitude of Hamid Samandarian was one of the most important of his charachteristics which caused him to keep away from margins and live in the heart of theatre.
Ahmad Sa'atchian another student of the master who teaches theatre at the institue that Samandarian taught there for many years believes that the biggest influence of Samandarian had been in growing and teaching different generations of Iranian theatre.
"History will judge Samandarian! but it is for sure that he always be remembered as the most loyal person of Iranian theare, because he was . always himself", Sa'atchian believes that.
