Foundation of Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad Will Be Based

Foundation of late Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad will be based very soon with cooperation of number of his friends and artists.

“I try to base Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad Foundation with number of theatre artists and my father’s friends who knew my father well. Now we are working of getting license from Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and considering primary programming.” Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad’s daughter told to Iran Theater.

Mana Ostad Mohammad explained about programs and targets of this foundation:” At this time I cannot tell about exact programs and goals of the foundation because its chair board and their goals are not specified. Undoubtedly, different people have various tastes which will influence of making decisions, so, informing will be postponed until we determine our members and programs.”

She counted basing the foundation as an independent movement and confirmed: “We didn’t speak or negotiate with any special organization or institute and our activity has been formed independently at all.”

While she as a young playwright continued her words, talked about the anniversary of late Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad and said: “Friday, July 25th some of old Torna players of Tehran will gather to remind my father’s memory in Ghasr Hall of Pardis and will perform for him. As you know, Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad was one of the Iranian social theatre playwrights who mentioned to Torna Theatre in “Aseyed Kazem” play; a traditional art which is unfortunately going to be forgotten these days and people especially youth are not familiar with it.”

Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad playwright and director was born on November 24th who died on July 25th after three years of fighting with liver cancer. He is one of the most famous Iranian playwrights who wrote plays like “Daqianous, Emperor of Ocean City”, “Certain Fullness”, Forty Stairs to Death”, “21st Night”, Ghesasolghasr”, “They Are Their Agent of Executions”, Khoonian and Khouzian”, “Jasmine”, “Elderly Home”, “Photo-mate”, “Last Game”, “Court of L Theatre”, “Sepanj Ranj and Shekanj”, “Family Photo”, “Tehran”, and…
