Artists’ Reaction to Gaza Tragedy

Iran Theater- What is happening in Gaza strip is a certain criminal against human beings which has aroused universal reactions. Artists are also part of people who have shown their hate from Zionists with publishing manifestations, strike and gatherings in front of universal organizations, being presence in rallies, and…in this way we have had interviewed with some of theatre artists:

Ardeshir Salehpour, playwright and director talked about reaction of Gaza’s events and said: “philosophy of art and culture is based on justice. Therefore, art family is seeking justice.”

“State of Gaza people in wronged has wound the emotion of people worldwide and in this way in harmony with the society artists condemn the criminal actions which lead to murdering undefended people.” This university professor continued.

Rahmat Amini, theatre professor and director said:”without assuming political visions and intentions, what is happening in this region suffers everybody’s heart, whether he is artist or not.”

“In the time that Gaza was under the attacks of Israel, many of world artists show their hate from this cruelty and anger with presence in rallies, programs, issuing manifestation, and other movements. Undoubtedly, these positioning by the world artists will have vast reflection and influence.” He emphasizes.

Maryam Kazemi who directed many works for children explain about Gaza events: “when we are speaking about children’s lives, it is not important who you are, everybody shows her hate and anger to this kind of injustice”

She emphasized: “Everybody who has conscious must react to about murdering undefended people of Gaza . he or she can show his reaction with his tongue, being present in rallies, signing manifestations and…or illustrates it in his art work.”

Rohollah Jafari, another theatre director talked about last 18-days events of Gaza and said:”savage murdering of undefended people of Palestine especially Gaza is a slur for Israel. Unfortunately, international organs which are advocate of defending of justice and freedom are silent now and ignore these criminals and do not anything for saving Gaza’s people.

Also Bahareh Rahnama talked about these horrible days of Gaza and said: “Rather than I can say anything as an artist about Gaza, I talk about it as a mother because I know how much will painful that killing undefended children. How can be silent about savage attacks to women and children and people of Gaza?”
