A Miracle which Happens in City Theatre / Bahram Rayhani’s Ask for Sympathy of Art Family

Director of “True Happiness Is Calm and Silent” counts Saturday August 9th as the sympathy day of art and theatre family with cancer patients.  

Iran Theater-press conference of “True Happiness Is Calm and Silent” was held in conference hall of City Theatre Complex with presence of Bahram Rayhani, director and writer, Arezoo Afshar and Kambiz Banan as actors, Shiva Khosromehr, Director Assistant, Fariba Jadidi, Public Relations, Abbas Ghaffari, Manager of public relations of Dramatic Arts Center on Saturday August 2nd.

I beginning of this session, Bahram Rayhani with mentioning to his sickness said: “Art is a kind of entertainment without considering human beings’ aspects which can be cheap too. I didn’t know much about children who suffer from cancer before I had but when I became ill I saw that how thousands of children fight with cancer and sometimes their families wait behind the doors of hospitals because of financial problems.”

This artist assumes supporting cancer patients as a national issue and continued: “We shouldn’t just expect government to support these people because this is a national issue. If we are eager to help we will see that how a miracle will happen.”

“Performing this theatre on August 9th is a miracle. I was at operation room last week and I never thought that I could have a hard operation but I realized that it is difficult, so, because of this I’m saying that performing “True Happiness Is Calm and Silent” is a miracle which was created by family of art and theatre.” He added.

“City Theatre Complex is the home of theatre artists and I do not permit myself to invite somebody to his own home. I do not want to chant but director of this play are thousands of theatre, cinema, TV artists and people who will come on Saturday to see this theatre.”Rayhani explained about inviting theatre artists for to see the performance of Saturday in main hall of City Theatre Complex.

He talked about acknowledge of theatre artists and said: “I’ve never been a critic of something and now I do not want to complain from somebody but we mustn’t sit to see silence of good actors and then hold tribute for them and feel sad for losing them.”

Rayhani thanked Alireza Naderi as a writer of dialogues of this play and said: “Presence of Alireza Naderi causes to weight our play and be more heavy and rich. He cooperated with us without any expectation and he is also a person who follows events of the play so much. Also, the texts of invitations which are supposed to send for artists were written by him.”

He as a young theatre artist who is active in pantomime talked about his love to theatre which helps him to live and said: “yesterday I received a letter from medical commission which said I am a full retired one. By seeing this letter I laughed and cried simultaneously. Great love like art and theatre can keep me alive and be my therapist. I believe in it. All people who knew me affirm that I became another person after my sickness.”
“I hope every Saturday an event happen in our art and theatre that all the world stand and applause in respect to Iranians. We can prove that we are not indifferent to the destiny and life of people. I believe that we are creator of our heaven and hell. When we can make happiness why we shouldn’t do that? All of the artists who worked with me in this theatre did it without receiving even a penny. Most of time I couldn’t be companion with the group but they did their tasks. As Alireza Naderi says the main performers of this theatre are artists and people who will be present on Saturday in City Theatre Complex.” He added.


“True Happiness Is Calm and Silent” play directed and written by Bahram Rayhani will go on stage on Saturday August 9th in Main Hall of City Theatre Complex.
