Great “No” of Theatre to Cancer

While he still suffers from sickness, Bahram Rayhani is determined in rehearsal his recent play which goes on stage August 9th in City Theatre Complex.

Iran Theater- one of the rehearse sessions of “True Happiness Is Calm and Silent” was held in plateau #1 City Theatre Complex on Tuesday evening August 5th with presence of Bahram Rayhani (Director), Arezou Afshar and Kambiz Banan (Actors) and Shiva Khosrowmehr (Director Assistant).

In the beginning of thie rehearsal session that Hossein Taheri, General Manager of Dramatic Arts Center was its special guest, Bahram Rayhani who suffers from cancer talked about himself and said: “this play has three pantomimes that I will perform them, if my body let me. In the most optimistic position I can perform two of them but I have recorded three of them to if I could not perform, I play its fim.”

 “ I wrote the play based on life of Sina Naderi (late artist who dies from cancer), Majid Bahrami and myself who are suffering with this sickness. Alireza Naderi (Director and Playwright) who has written dialogues of “True Happiness Is Calm and Silent” and has had the experience of losing his son because of cancer told me that you are entering to such a fire that you will melt. He wrote it so beautiful that I cannot stop my emotions.” sHe added.

Hossein Taheri, General Manager of Dramatic Arts Center said to this young artist: “your intent and resistance against difficulties of life is so beautiful. You love to theatre and delightful pen of Alireza Naderi which based on suffer shows that art can create true love. “

 “The letter that you sent me at first for performing this work made me happy and simultaneously I felt strange. You, with having love to theatre make a situation that has greater effect and influence than every festival. I send my hails to those artists who are working in this work without any financial expectation.” He added.

General Manager of Dramatic Arts Center said at the end: “performing these kinds of theatres has no off days and we cannot ignore them. Bahram Rayhani with all of his sicknesses and loneliness in recent days decided to direct a play voluntarily. This act can be a start of such movements.”

“True Happiness Is Calm and Silent” play directed and written by Bahram Rayhani will go on stage on Saturday August 9th in Main Hall of City Theatre Complex.
