Development and Improvement of Outdoor Theatre in Iran
According to one of the teachers and activists of dramatic arts, Iran outdoor theatre could found its independent life in recent years and not being set in the sides of festivals.
Iran Theater- Shahed Payvand pointed to high situation of outdoor theatre among other dramatic genres and added: “We are in a time that street theatre could find its dependent identity and now it is not just as a spice of festivals beside other theatre types.”
“Now there are some independent festivals for street theatre which the best of them hold in Marivan and Lahijan. Also streets, parks, and other public places of Iranian cities are places of performances of outdoor theatre during year, so we can say that severely that this theatre genre could reach to a peak in improvement that can stand on its feet.” This university professor continued.
“Holding workshops, profiting it for advertisements and education are some of other things that can help to improvement of outdoor theatre. There are many interested youth who like to work in this field but they do not know how to start their work.” He added.
“Professional vision to this artistic field, publication of professional artistic books and outdoor plays can help a lot to some people who work in this field because we face to serious weaknesses in these fields. Undoubtedly, outdoor theatre can develop with eliminating these problems.” Payvand emphasized.
This theatre director pointed to different team-works that have established in Dramatic Arts Center for improvement of street theatre and explained: “In these team-works some of very good discussions are being mentioned like contracts of groups, cooperation with organizations who have cultural budgets, funding educational and research departments, and… but these issues need to follow and financial support to be able to finish their ways.”
