Holding tribute ceremony for Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad in House of Iranian Artists

Tribute ceremony of Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad was held in Naseri Hall of House of Iranian Artists on Saturday October 6th.
Iran Theatre- Tribute ceremony of Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad, playwright, translator of Dutch works and literary critic was held in Naseri Hall of House of Iranian Artists with cooperation of Germany embassy in Tehran and Goethe institute with presence of icons like Mahmoud Dolatabadi.
In this ceremony Farnaz Ghorbani, manager of cultural projects in Germany embassy and Goethe institute memorized Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad as a person who has had a great role in transmitting literary works of contemporary Germany to Iran.
Narjes Khodayi, professor of German Language and literature department of Shahid Beheshti University mentioned to his talent in both Persian and Dutch languages also his punctuality in selecting best and most updated works of German Literature such as paying attention to the works of Dutch women writers.
Mitra Elyati, writer appreciated his attempts for familiarizing Persian reader with famous works of German literature and said that his stories were full of images layers that needed to understand sub-layers of them.
Maedeh Tahmasebi, Theatre and cinema actress read some parts of story collection “Sky full of clouds” written by Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad also parts of novel “Beginning of loving” written by Judith Herman which was published in Germany last month and now is in process of translating by Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad for the audience.
Then after Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad had a speech and thanked managers of Goethe Institute in Tehran also Mahmoud Dolatabadi who was present in the ceremony and named him as his supporter. He mentioned to a time that he was in doubt if translating these literary works and Dolatabadi’s encouragements helped him to be sure in this way. Mahmoud Hosseini Zaa, winner of 2013 medal of Goethe Institute had speech in both Persian and German and finished his words by saying his gratefulness from his family, audience and all the organizers of the ceremony.
Next part of the ceremony was simultaneous screening a documentary “About Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad” in Naseri and Shahnaz hall of House of Iranian Artists. After screening of the film and while the Q and A session was being held in one hall, cultural director of Germany embassy had speech in another one. Rayner Botz pointed to Goethe Institute duties and said that it includes teaching and training German language, holding cultural programs and training contemporary art and culture in the world. He analyzed the process of selecting nominees of Goethe Institute medal annually and said that he is so honored for being presence in homeland of Mahmoud Hosseini Zaad as the winner of the medal in last year. Head of Goethe Institute mentioned to his characteristic in creating art from the heart of life difficulties.
