Polish director: Presence of Families in Theatre Halls Was Very Interesting in Children and Young Adult Theatre Festival

Director of “Picabo, Hope to See You” said that European families prefer to familiarize their children with theatre while they are very young because they know the importance of teaching by theatre.

Iran Theatre- Andrea Bousian, director of “Picabo, Hope to See You” who is participant of 21st Hamedan International Children and Young Adults Theatre Festival pointed to the age group of audience of the play and said: “Most of our works which are performed in Poland are for ages of 3 to 10. Determining age group is very important for us because by doing this we understand that how much we can use the devices we have.”

He pointed to importance of theatre in Europe: “It is very long time that pedagogic theatre is common for children in young ages and based of this theory Poland also paid attention to this way of teaching. We also try that our theatre won’t be only pedagogic one for children but adults also learn something by it.”

The theatre director noted: “Fortunately, our behaviors and efforts cause to absorb families to watch our theatre. Nowadays, theatre halls which have such theatres are mostly welcomed by families and we always have shortage of seats. Familiarity of new generation with art of theatre cause that the audience of theatre increase and we should make the future of theatre with these children.”

Bousian talked about welcoming of Iranian families of Hamedan Children and Young Adult Theatre Festival and its atmosphere and explained: “Our group became surprised of families welcoming of theatres, in our performances for children, amount of adults were more than children.”
The director said at the end: “Hamedan Children and Young Adult Theatre Festival was held in a very good way until now and the very respecting thing for me is that that of a problem happens for us, everybody tries to eliminate it. I feel good about the atmosphere that it has and I hope to be present in this festival again.”
