Amy Strange: “London, Rome, Tehran, Amsterdam” Is A Completely Intercultural Play either In Subject and Performance

Amy Strange English actress of “London, Rome, Tehran, Amsterdam” believes that she understood a different philosophy with traveling, and seeing events in Iran.
Iran Theatre- Amy Strange English actress of “London, Rome, Tehran, Amsterdam” which is being performed these days in Vahdat Hall, pointed to intercultural activities during her artistic career and said: “I had some projects in London before, which can be consumed as intercultural activity because we gathered with some other actors from different parts of the world for acting in a play.”
“Maybe they didn’t follow intercultural subject but nationality of grou
p members were different, but now in “London, Rome, Tehran, Amsterdam” I’m in a project that the main subject is intercultural problems.”
The theatre actress bridged her knowledge on classical theatre in England with acting in this play and said: “There are some things in classical plays which we have in this play too like looking to the audience. Good sample of this is Charlie Chaplin’s films who looks to the camera many times.”
She talked about their cooperation between different members of the group of “London, Rome, Tehran, Amsterdam” and profiting from each others’ experiences and said: “This issue was based on that point that if the guys were interested in learning from each other or not. Ideh Aboutalebi connected to us from the middle of the work. Her body performance was excellent. Marta Paganelli( from Italy) sang very well; so when we wanted to perform something or sing a piece we conferred them.”
Strange finally pointed to her experience in travelling to Iran and added: “We had a chance to visit Iran not only Tehran City, because Tehran is different with other cities of Iran and everything happens fast in it, but a city like Yazd with those fascinating architecture was very special. I understood a different philosophy with traveling and seeing different cities and events.”
“London, Rome, Tehran, Amsterdam” directed and written by Arvand Dasht Aray is being performed with presence of actors from Iran, Italy, Netherlands and England in Tehran Hafiz Hall.
