Mehdi Shafiee: Recognizing and Profiting Entire Facilities and Capacities Is the Main Duty of Managers

Iran Theatre: Valedictory and Introduction Ceremony of Mehdi Shafiee General Manager of Iran Dramatic Arts Center and Valedictory of Ardeshir Salehpour head of this general office was held on Monday February 17^th in Mashahir Hall of City Theatre Complex with presence of Ali Moradkhani Art Deputy of Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister and number of artists and press.

After speeches of artists like Mahmoud Azizi, Iraj Rad, Alireza Naderi, Hossein Pakdel and Marziyeh Boroumand who all expressed their consent feelings from choosing Mehdi Shafiee as the leader of Iranian theatre then Ali Moradkhani Art Deputy of Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister started to talk.

He explained about the specialties of the new manager of Iran Dramatic Arts Center: “Shafiee has a good mathematical mind and he can work with numbers and arrange them finely with considering need of Iranian theatre.”

Art Deputy of Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister added: “We should have right sight of our society happenings and do not let it to obstacle our big goals; theatre is a sign of nobility and is the mirror of our society. When cineastes want to be forward of their colleagues they enter to theatre.”

Mehdi Shafiee who has received his interdict as General Manager of Iran Dramatic Arts Center officially from Ali Moradkhani said that: “it is not supposed to something extraordinary happened in theatre because all of us are aware of limited budget of theatre. The main task which must to do is recognizing and profiting entire facilities and capacities.”

 “Iranian theatre is progressing one and it passed many good events; this year edition of Fadjr theatre festival had good opportunities for young artists o show their abilities and talents while it has many big problems.” He added.

Shafiee emphasized that: “We should make a situation in theatre that everything be not finalized in theatre; Dramatic Arts Center must give responsibilities to artists and act as a supporter of theatre. Also groups must find their official role and we should have small theatre companies. Theye are not out of reach because many of our directors have handed these conditions.”

 “We should support of having City Theatre in all provinces because they should have theatre and audience.”

Ardeshir Salhpour, director of 33^rd Fadjr Theatre Festival and head ofIran Dramatic Arts Center pointed to this issue that without unity we cannot work in theatre and continued: “We should work on our capacity and tolerate in listening to criticisms to develop culture of our society. Being kind will help us because theatre conditions are in a way that we should be savior of ourselves.”

At the end of the ceremony,Art Deputy of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministerand General Manager of Iran Dramatic Arts Center along with number of artists visited new building of Theatre House in Somayeh Street.
