Behrouz Gharibpour: I Introduce Sa’adi to the World Again

Behrouz Gharibpour said that he has tried to reveal forgotten and hidden thoughts of Sa’adi in his new puppet opera.

Iran Theatre- Name of Behrouz Gharibpour reminds puppet operas like “Ashoura”, “Mowlana”, “Hafiz”, and “Leili and Majnoun”. He wanted to direct “Sa’adi” from several months ago. He gave us new information about this performance and said: “I hope to open the performance on 21 April 2015 in Shiraz on Sa’adi’s birthday.”

He emphasized on this issue that Sa’adi and his works were obsolete during recent years and continued: “I tried to reveal forgotten and hidden thoughts of the big Persian poet. “Sa’adi” opera can introduce this great poet and philosopher to the world and Iran again.”

Gharibpour talked about literal and artistic references used in the play: “My main references were two great books of Boustan and Golestan and the language of the work is the language of Boustan.”

Sa’adi Shirazi is one of the greatest poets and philosophers of Iran who lived 700 years ago in chaotic days of Moguls’ attacks to Iran. He is well-known as the father of language. His famous works are Golestan in prose and Boustan in verse also his verses and his complex of poetries which are known as generalities of Sa’adi.
