Neutralize Mines of Iran-Iraq War by Theatre Artists!

Outdoor theatre “Mine” which is being performed in 25 villages of Divandarreh from Iran’s Kurdistan province teaches local people how to behave and face with this dangerous weapon.
Iran Theatre- After 26 years from finishing war of Iraq vs. Iran there are still regions which are not neutralized which are injuring and cause even death of villagers. Based on these kinds of events, Maat theatre band are performing “Mine” play in villages of Divandarreh one of the provinces of Kurdistan in west of Iran. The play is written by Hossein Moradi and directed by Mohammad Moslemi.
Mohammad Moslemi pointed to process of forming the theatre and said: “Divandarreh is one of the places which is still has many mines. One of the experts of social service told us that they taught some teachings as speeches and workshops but they didn’t reach to something they wanted. “
“Based on this information we suggested performing a play about mine in Divandarreh villages to inform people. In fact we wanted to pay off our debt in neutralizing war mines as theatre artists.” He added.
“The play is started with fighting two children and their father, when the audiences pay attention to the fight, the expert enters as the teacher and teaches important things in a comic language. Of course, most of dialogues were written by profiting from language and tone of local people.” Moslemi explained about the play.
Divandarreh province is located in 98 kilometers on north of Sanandaj, capital of Kurdistan near to borderline of Iran and Iraq.
