A Contemporary Adaptation from Molier’s ”The Miser” in Tehran

.Director of “The Miser Narrated by An Interrogator” introduced the play as an adaptation of “The Miser” play written by Molier which has a contemporary and universal look to Grotesque relations of men.
Iran Theatre- “The Miser Narrated by An Interrogator” is a play written by Ehsan Zivar Alam and directed by Anahita Gharcheh which is being performed from April 10th in Master Mashayekhi Theatre Hall in Tehran.
Anahita Gharcheh talked about the subject of the play and said: “Our play is an adaptation from “The Miser” of Molier. We tried to play with sub-layers of the text to reach to a contemporary image and global one from the play. The world of our play is not dependant to a special world or place. In fact we wanted to detach from real world.”
“Theme and color of our play is fantasy and Post Modern. We give a grotesque-like image of cruel relationships between people.” She continued.
Director of “The Miser Narrated by An Interrogator” pointed to having puppets in the play and added: “These puppets help to have fiction and fantasy atmosphere in the play.”
“The Miser Narrated by An Interrogator” directed by Anahita Gharcheh which is being performed from April 10th in Master Mashayekhi Theatre Hall (Valiyeasr Cross) in Tehran.
