Deconstruction in Performing “Good Night Mother” In Tehran

Director of “Good Night Mother” said that in the play the audiences are set in a place which seems that they sit in their balcony.
Iran Theatre- Saeed Zakizadeh, director of “Good Night Mother” which is performed in Niavaran Culture House explained about performing style of the play: “The performance is not totally realistic one and it includes non-realistic one. In each of my artistic work, I try to use different style in communicating with my audience; this time I send my message by dialogues, light and décor.”
He said that the decoration and accessories of the play are a little bit different and it has some deconstruction. He added: “In the play we emphasized on the subject with using special decoration. In the play the audiences are set in a place which seems that they sit in their balcony or as a pedestrian, they are witnesses of a 24-hour life of a mother and daughter.”
“Problems which are said in the play is adapted with Iran’s society and the audience can feel pity with the suffers of the main character.” He said.
“Good Night Mother” written by Marsha Norman and directed by Saeed Zakizadeh is being performed from April 10th in Gousheh Hall of Niavaran Culture-House.
