Performing Two Co-production of Iran with Germany and Netherlands in 18th Iran International Festival of University Theatre

Iran Theatre- Behnam Navayi, Art and International Affairs Deputy of this edition of the festival pointed to different sections of the international section to four parts and said: “The first section is holding workshop with presence of international masters and teachers. Some of them were chosen and we are negotiating in advance.”

 “Rimini Protocol Company, the famous Dutch and Swiss company is one of the chosen companies of the section. So, we invited Aljosha Begrite the dramaturge of the company to hold a workshop about documentary theatre and theatre in public atmospheres. Also we invited number of masters from Austria, Spain, and Italy.” He added.   

Navayi explained about the way of choosing international works for the festival and said: “Until now, there were offers for performances from Spain, Czech, France, Italy, Germany, Egypt and Netherlands. Among them only two plays were selected to perform. Choosing other works also will be based on economic and aesthetic goals of the festival. We looked for some works whih could have new ideas for us. We will get results in next two weeks.”

Director of international affairs of the festival presented some information and said: “We will have two meetings on joint productions of Iran and Netherlands which is a common one between Iranian students and Dutch ones from Amsterdam Studio. Also another play by Iran and Germany: Iranian Students od Ernest Bosch’s School and Iranian Students. In the play all the masters will come to Iran at least two weeks earlier and do final tasks of the job. Now, practices go well in Iran and Berlin.” He aaded.

 “In the fourth section of the international part we will have some guests from international companies. This is for being familiar with theatre of other countries. Also we can make program on Iranian theatre groups’ performances in international festivals.”

18th Iran International Festival of University Theatre will be held from April 16th to 20th under directing Amir Mehdi Morsali as its secretary.
