World’s Most Prestigious Theater Festival to Host an Iranian Play
Hearing, First Iranian Play to Perform in Avignon Theater Festival

Amir Reza Koohestani’s “Hearing” will become the first Iranian play to be selected for France’s prestigious Avignon theatre festival on July 21-24.
“Hearing” will be one of the 24 plays to be staged in the festival with five performances, irantheater.ir reported.
Mr Kouhestani’s drama is the first Iranian play to be selected in the festival over the past 69 years. This is a golden opportunity for Iranian theater.
Iranian theater artists such as Atila Pesiani, Kiumars Moradi and Reza Hada had performances on the sideline of the festival in the past.
“Hearing”, which had performances in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Norway, is played by Mona Ahmadi, Aynar Azarhoush, Elham Korda and Mahin Sadri. Mohammad-Reza Hosseinzadeh is the assistant of Mr Kouhestani. The play was peformed in Iran in 2005.
