Iran Contemporary Art & Cinema Incomplete Without Him & His Movies
Mehdi Shafiei, director of Dramatic Art Center, expressed condolences on the death of Abbas Kiarostami, Iran’s legendary film director.
Another legendary artist of this land travelled to “The Friend’s House”. The bitter taste of the demise and the agony of being deprived of his existence could be tolerated only by the sweet taste and magic power of his valuable and enduring works. Abbas Kiarostami, the internationally- celebrated and awarded artist of this land left us. He is undoubtedly a man that Iran’s contemporary art, especially cinema, will be incomplete without his name and his works. He was a great artist who made Iran shine at the top of the world art field numerous times.
May his soul be happy, rest in peace and long live his worthless masterpieces
