Reza Fayyazi in Evaluation of Razavi Theater Festival:

Financial & Intellectual Supports Encourage the Youth

Any festival, no matter where it is held or what content it has, can turn into a colorful window that has positive cultural outcome.

Mr Fayyazi said that participants of the festival were entitled to enjoy certain privileges.

“Nothing will move smoothly without assistance. The supports should be both financially and intellectually. For example, financial and location facilities should be provided for public performance of all groups,” said Mr Fayyazi.

“Such backings will encourage the youth to improve their works for better,” he insisted and added, “Khorasan has lots of talented artists who have chosen isolation rather than works. Such talents must be tapped.”

Mr Fayyazi, the actor of “Yousef Hour” movie, said that theater could have positive and long impacts on the people.

“Theater can improve a trend among the people without imposing any pressure on them. For example, fastening the seatbelts could not be translated into a public norm if it was not regarded as a law,” he said.

“Theater can help teach people to avoid certain behaviors and festivals such as Razavi theater festival, which is held in northeastern northern Khorasan province can help improve such teachings in cities [other than Tehran,” Mr Fayyazi explained.

One of the challenges facing theater festival, he said, was a change in management, which was coupled with shift in policies.

It was good that no fundamental change would follow whenever a new director would take office, Mr Fayyazi insisted and added that such moves could weaken the theater in the country.
