Mirrors Do Not Lie

“Mirror”, which is written by Saeed Tashakori and directed by Mehdi Fathi, will be staged at the 11th Razavi Theater Festival.

“Mirror”, which is written by Saeed Tashakori and directed by Mehdi Fathi, will be staged at the 11th Razavi Theater Festival.

“Mirror”, which dates back to Qajar era (1785-1925), tells the story of Mirza Sadegh Nouri who is exciled to Mashhad, home to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eight Shia Imam. He has six months to make a facelift in the mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS), according to irantheare.ir.

The play is about mirror works, insisting that one cannot stand in front of a mirror and tell a lie.

The play is visual and dialogues are narrated by assistants of the stage.

The stage is designed in two sections.

Javad Ranjbarzadeh, Rahim Soltani, Armin Oveis Gharani, Mahsa Birjandi and Maryam Abipour play in “Mirror”.

Mehdi Gheshlaghi, Mostafa Azizi, Hassan Feizi, Somayeh Radpour, Fatemeh Rajabi, Narjes Fathi, Massoud Najafi and Seyyed Mohammad Hashemi are assistants of the stage.

Zahra Fathi is the stage designer, Maryam Rezazadeh costume designer, Nahid Haghshenas advisor to the director, Esmail Aghamohammadi the lighting designer and Reza Nabilou the music composer of “Mirror”.

The play will take part from Nazaraabad town near Tehran in the festival.

“Roushan” and “Long-Scarfed Soldier” are the plays directed by Mehdi Fathi, who is the director of Theater Association of Nazarabad and the town’s Basiji artists.

Mr Tashakori is the deputy chancellor of Ahvaz’s Shahid Chamran University for cultural affairs. The play is published by the Ministry of the Science, Research and Technology and Imam Reza (AS) International Foundation.
