Two Top Fadjr Festival Pieces to Perform Again
“The Most Eccentric of Creatures”, “Macbeth” to Be Staged Soon
“The Most Eccentric of Creatures”, “Macbeth”, which are directed by Reza Servati and produced by Noreddin Heidari Maher, will be performed again.
The two plays, which won awards from the jury of the Fadjr International Theater Festival, had had performances five years ago. They will be performed in one of Tehran’s private theaters soon.
“The Most Eccentric of Creatures” is a play without dialogue with minimalist gestures. It was participated in the 29th Fadjr International Theater Festival. It received the special jury award of the festival of the international section.
It was immediately performed in Iranshahr Theater and was received enthusiasm from the audience. But the play stopped performing after one of his actors Majid Bahrami got cancer. Now the play, which will have an international tour next year, is going to be performed again.
“The Most Eccentric of Creatures” has a post-dramatic and physical style, denying the dialogue as a dramatic medium.
“The Most Eccentric of Creatures” who the audience see put on skin-colored costumes in a way that their skins and clothing cannot be differentiated. They restore to anything weird until a power would give order to them. But the order would be disrupted with a boom bang. The cast will be introduced soon.
“Macbeth” will focus on Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. “Macbeth”, which is directed and adapted by Reza Servati, won the top award of the 12th Student Theater Festival and special jury award of the 28th Fadjr International Theater Festival. It had previously performed in Sayeh studio of City Theater and Iranshahr Theater.
It was enthusiastically welcomed by the audience. Servati has used a Persian translation of Dariush Ashuri of Shakespeare’s tragedy.
The play took part in the Cuore Di Persia festival in Italy’s Bologna. It was performed in Tehran, Amsterdam, Tbilisi, Saint Petersburg, Bologna and Batumi. It received an award from Russia’s Association of Theater Critics at the 19th International Theater Festival ‘The Rainbow’ in Saint Petersburg.
Morteza Esmailkashi, Asghar Piran, Behrouz Kazemi, Navvab Soraya and Alireza Khosrowjerdi are the cast.
