“Count to One”, a piece written and directed by Zahra Sabri, was welcomed by the audience in Monaco and dedicated to Donya Fanizadeh, Iran’s great puppet performer.
Zahra Sabri told irantheater.ir that the piece was performed by “Yaas Tamam” Group on August 13 at Fort Antoine Festival.
The piece, which had performances in Sweden, Germany, Russia, Italy, Portugal and France, was received warm welcome by the audience in Monaco, Ms Sabri said.
The outdoor performance was held for 350 audience at 21:30, she added. “It was the first time the group had performance under the sky and it was a great experience.”
Ms Sabri had earlier said that “Count to One” was an anti-war piece and was inspired by the poems of the internationally-known Iranian poet Omar Kayyam.
The soldiers use mud to show any man is born one day and will die another day. No man can take anything with him/her.
“Count to one” by “Yaas Tamam” Theater Group was performed by Mohsen Shahpari, Hossein Divandari and Reza Bahrami. Behrang Abbaspour is the music player and composer.
Ms Sabri has so far directed “Land & Wheel”, “Count to One”, “The House of Bernarda Alba” and “Eight Moments”.
