Tehran-Mobarak 16th International Puppet Festival inaugurated in the evening of the first day of the last Iranian month of summer amongst the joy of the children of Tehran, who had come with their parents to Vahdat Hall to celebrate the opening.
The carnival of puppets passed through Ostad Shahriar Street among the enthusiasm of families who had brought their children to the party of puppets. The nostalgic songs reverberated through the streets leading to the City Theater.
When puppets reached the City Theater, they created an environment of joy and happiness for children.
The kids were enjoying the happiness as the veteran puppetry artists went up the outdoor stage set up near the City Theater to welcome them.
Hamid Jebeli, Fariba Jedikar, Azadeh Pourmokhtar, Marzieh Boroumand and Maryam Saadat were among the veteran artists.
Marzieh Boroumand, the secretary of the festival said that she wished peace and security for all over the world. “I wish no kid would spend his/her night with fear nowhere in the world. I wish the justice would be spread all over the world and all Iranian families live happily.”
Mahyar Mojib, a noted artist of puppetry who plays Pangoul the cat in the television, encouraged the children to be happy.
Puppets of Iranian myths such as Rostam, Sohrab, Simorgh, Dive Sepid (white giant), Tahmineh and some foreign ones were displayed for the children for them to be ready to watch the puppet shows on August 22-28.
As the balloons colored the sky, the festival opened.
