People Played Main Role

Marzieh Boroumand told irantheater.ir that the participation of the people with their children as families gave me the spirit and determination to find out new ways for them to spend leisure time and have culturally-rich entertainments.

Evaluating the festival, the director and actress said that it was really a warm and good festival.

“We have achieved some of our objectives. There are some points too that I thought it could have been better not to do them. For example, we had been too democratic in allocation of amphitheaters. However, I generally think the people played the main role in the festival, which was positive.”

Ms Boroumand added that we had reached some of the targets and notices that the cultural officials and she, as a person who was involved in the field, had had responsibilities and obligations.

Ms Boroumand said that the audience of each show was determined in the time schedule.

The audience of puppet shows had been clear while families took their children which was not proper for them, she explained. “For example, during “The Writer”, which was not proper for children, one of kids was crying in a way that they had to take him out.”

 ““The Writer”, a piece from the Netherlands, was staged on the opening day of the festival after a carnival in which many families took part and they were willing to see it as the doors opened and many entered the amphitheater for free,” she said.

Ms Boroumand said that it was a positive measure for the children to get familiar with the theater as “one of my strongest memories belongs to the time my mother took me to watch a play”.

On ideas and programs for the next year, she said that her mind was busy with holding this festival the best way as the new idea would pop into mind itself.

The theater circle, she said, must evaluate the performance of the festival to reach a good conclusion.
