Iran Rad:
Davoud Rashidi Will Live Forever in Iran Art

Iran Rad said that artists like Davoud Rashidi would live through their works.
It is regretful that Davoud Rashidi, one of veteran theater artists, which has had a long career in Iran’s theater field has passed away, Mr Rad told irantheater.ir.
When Davoud Rashidi returned Iran, he had brought a type of theater to the country, which was modern but could connect to the audience, especially the common people, he said.
“This theater had innovations, which could establish connection with the people and was devoid of strange matters,” he said and added, “Davoud Rashidi had influenced Iran’s theater in many aspects, one of them was his teaching at the Tehran University’s Faculty of Fine Arts for years and educating lots of students. They are working in the art either in theater, or television and cinema and have special status in many fields.”
Mr Rad also said that Davoud Rashidi was in charge of the theater office of “Emrooz” Theater Group and he was one of the few noted directors of the office.
Davoud Rashidi had also had a theater group, he said and added he not only influenced the theater but also the cinema both before and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
“Some of the movies he starred in will remain as the most outstanding ones in Iran cinema history.
“Mr Rashidi was a studious and serious person in his theater career. The death of such artists is poignant and whose place could not be filled easily. It needs a long time the empty place of such artists to be filled,” Mr Rad said.
