Davoud Rashidi a Pioneer in Iran’s Modern Theater

On the status of Davoud Rashidi in Iran theater, Ali Nasirian told ILNA he was educated in Europe and he changed Iran theater in his return to his home country, according to irantheater.ir.

Rashidi was a leading figure in Iran modern theater, Mr Nasirian said and added that he staged valuable pieces in 1960s which breathe a fresh air into Iran new theater.

Mr Nasirian expressed his regret over the death of Davoud Rashidi, saying, “I am so upset. He was a cultured human, a candid friend and a great artist and director.”

Davoud Rashidi passed away on Friday of a heart attack. He was buried to rest in Tehran’s Behesht Zahra (SA) cemetery today.
