Need for “Jahesheh” to Extend Performance until Sacred Defense Week

It is needed the performance of “Jahesheh”, a piece on Iran-Iraq war (1980-88), will continue until the Sacred Defense Week (September 22-28).

Amir Dejakam, noted director and actor, told irantheater.ir that it would be a pity due attention would not be paid to this show and it had been performed in an unknown auditorium like Sarv Theater with the least facilities.

Such shows would full support given their subjects and excellent performance, he added.

“I witnessed the difficulties “Jahesheh” is facing closely behind the set. It is regretted that the officials do not pay sufficient attention to the works about the values [of the system] and sacred defense despite their promises,” Mr Dejakam complained.

Stressing on the importance of such shows, Mr Dejakam asked, “When 30 actors threw their weight behind such as a show to do something about the sacred defense despite all the difficulties, why should not they receive support? Why officials should come and praise them with no practical backing?”

On the quality and quantity of plays, the director said that about 105 shows have been performed every day now despite all the challenges and difficulties.

“Jahesheh” is also a philanthropic show, which displays all the side-effects, concerns and stresses of war in a touchable way, he said. “Such potential must be regarded as an opportunity to commemorate the Sacred Defense week.”

“Jaheshe” had its last performance in Sarv Theater on Monday.
