Selection Council of Children & Young Adults Competition Appointed

Shahram Karami, secretary of the 23rd International Children & Young Adults Theater Festival, has called on five noted artists to become members of the Selection Council of the competition of pieces about children and young adults.

Davoud Kianian, Dr Qotbeddin Sadeghi, Mohammad-Javad Kaboudarahangi, Hamid-Reza Naimi and Reza Abdolalizadeh are introduced as members of the council, irantheater.ir reported.

Davoud Kianian, author, director and veteran university professor and children and young adults theater figure who hold the first degree emblem of merit, has over 30 books such as “Creative Theater”, “Once Upon a Time”, “Rain Beseech”, “The Sound of the Promised Steps”. He directed “The Secret of Sacred Tree”, “Bird & Elephant” and “The Confused Rooster”. Davoud Kianian has cooperated with the festival over the past decade as a member of the policymaking council or the jury.

Dr Qotbeddin Sadeghi, author, director and veteran university professor and noted actor, has over 50 published books or plays such as “The Memoirs of Zariran”, “Mooyeh Jam”, “Bahram Choobin” and “Azize Shengali”. He is a renowned figure for art-lovers. He has cooperated with the festival as instructor, jury member and in recent years with two pieces “Wise Man, Crazy Tiger”, “The Sound of One Hand”.

Mohammad-Javad Kaboudarahangi, actor and director and university professor, is known with “You the Balds”, “Which One of Us” and “Picnic in the Warfield”. He has cooperated with the festival since its early editions. He is directing “Vagooyehahye Gandabi” in Mehr Theater these days.

Hamid-Reza Naimi, author, director, actor and university professor, has been known with “King Lear”, “Shining of the Promised Hour”, “Whales’ Rendezvous” and “Assassination”. His plays like “Mahe Vejyar”, “Once Upon a Time a Dog” has been performed or published so far and received awards in the field of children and young adults theater. His “Good Tale of God” was published in the 22nd edition of the festival. His piece “Socrates” was one of the successful pieces of Iran theater in recent years. It is on stage in Vahdat Hall now.

Reza Abdolalizadeh, actor and children and young adults theater director, had been a director of Children & Young Adults Theater Association for one term. He has performed “The Canary’s Song”, “Your Little Star”, “Butterfly & Dance of Leaves”, “Ghouri va Gole Piyaz” and “Six Little Penguins”.

The 23rd International Children & Young Adults Theater Festival will take place in Hamedan in December.
