Cast with Vision Loss Performed “Season of Bitter Orange Blossom” Excellently

Loris Tjeknavorian, internationally-known Iranian Armenian composer and conductor, praised the cast of “Season of Bitter Orange Blossom”, saying that the performance was difficult event for actors with no impairment but this cast with vision loss acted great.

Loris Tjeknavorian watched “Season of Bitter Orange Blossom”  on Monday in the City Theater, acclaiming the cast who are living with sight loss as “powerful”, irantheater.ir reported.

Addressing the group, the veteran composer said that the actors were “extraordinary”. “I do not know how you could memorize such long dialogues because the piece was as far as I see was difficult for professional actors,” he added.

Gholamreza Arabi, director of “Season of Bitter Orange Blossom”, welcomed Mr Tjeknavorian and other guests with bouquets of flowers made by artists with vision loss, saying that the piece was rehearsed for 20 months by the cast with sight loss who were reluctant of using a stick upon performance.

He added that the set was designed in a way for the cast to can perform easily and transfer the content to audience too.

“Season of Bitter Orange Blossom”, which is written by Mahmoud Nazeri, is performed every day at 6 pm by a cast with vision loss including Neda Soleimani, Ali Bolboli, Maryam Dayhimdokht, Hojatollah Sanganeh, Babak Mohammadzadeh, Mohen Rostami, Hamir-Reza Kianikhah, Shima Shouri.

The piece will host a group of artists and journalists tomorrow.
