Seyyed Reza Kamal-Alavi, Mashhad veteran theater artist, was laid to rest in the city’s Behesht Reza Cemetery with the participation of artists, officials and people.
The funeral service of Seyyed Reza Kamal-Alavi, a renowned theater artist, was held yesterday from Mashhad City Theater, irantheater.ir reported.
After prayer on the body of the late artist, a scene of “Death of a Salesman” was performed to pay tribute to Mr Kamal-Alavi. That was a poignant picture praised by the wife of Mr Kamal-Alavi.
Head of Khorasan Razavi Association of Dramatic Arts said that theater of Khorasan is mourning the death of its legendary artist while theater was experiencing tough days.
Nasrollah Qaderi, a theater artist, praised Mr Kamal-Alavi for being a great man more than anything else such as author, director and university professor.
Mehdi Shafiei, director of Dramatic Arts Center, expressed condolences over the death of Mr Kamal-Alavi, saying that great men live and die noble.
Following the service, the body of the late artist was carried to Behersht Reza (AS) Cemetery in Mashhad.
Seyyed Reza Kamal-Alavi, Mashhad veteran theater artist, passed away on Saturday at the age of 59 following years of suffering from chronic heart disease.
Mr Kamal-Alavi was a graduate of dramatic arts from Dramatic Arts University and hold the third degree merit of art from the Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry.
The late artist served in various capacities such as head of audio/visual office of Khorasan Red Crescent Society, an expert of the Literacy Campaign of the province, Theater Department of Khorasan Art Center, a member and expert of the country’s Association of Dramatic Arts, deputy head of the Tehran Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, a member of Khorasan Razavi Association of Theater Coordination Council and Policymaking, chairman of Mashhad Artists Center, Deputy head of Khorasan Artists Center, managing director of Khorasan Artists Center and head of Khorasan Razavi Dramatic Arts Association.
