Iran’s Sole Representative in an Int’l Event
“Crispy Potatoes” in Kirkuk International Street Theater Festival

“Crispy Potatoes” (pa tateh perjaveh kan), which was present in Marivan International Street Theater Festival, will represent Iran in the competition section of Third Kirkuk International Street Theater Festival in Iraq.
The piece, which is performed by Anahita Theater Group of Saghez in western Iran, is directed and designed by Havery Rezaei. Havery Rezaei and Amin Sadeghi will play in the piece, which is a comedy in Kurdish language, irantheater.ir reported.
The comedy criticizes bureaucratic maze in employment and unemployment of the youth while involving the audience in subjects such as addiction, academic education, marriage, having degrees. The piece creates a joyful yet tragic ambience.
“Crispy Potatoes” welcomed by the audience in Marivan International Street Theater Festival. Following its success in the event, it was chosen by officials to represent Iran in Kirkuk festival, which opens today for four days in Iraq.
Anahita Theater Group had performances in other Iraq’s Kurdistan Region in cities of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Soran and Rawanduz. Alireza Esmaili directed the former two pieces.
