“Shakespeare Love 2001” to Go to Belarus International Theater Festival If…

“Shakespeare Love 2001”, which is written by Milad Akbarnejad and is directed by Abbas Aqsami, has been officially selected to join Belarus International Theater Festival. But it can go to the event if the troupe is financially supported for the transport costs.

Abbas Aqsami, the director, said that “Shakespeare Love 2001”, which is written by Milad Akbarnejad and is directed by him, can attend the festival from November 23 to November 30, irantheater.ir reported. The festival, which have two professional and student sections, hosts 26 pieces from different countries, he added.

“Shakespeare Love 2001” is selected to attend there from Iran in its professional section but the troupe could afford transfer costs if the talks with the cultural officials would bear fruits and they handle the costs, Mr Aqsami said.

“Shakespeare Love 2001”, which attended an international festival in Spain last year, has so far been unable to have public performance in the country, he criticized.

“Shakespeare Love 2001”, he said, is a musical comedy, inspired by “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare. Afshin Zarei, Salman Khati, Ali Taghizadeh, Saman Khalilian, Hossein Jamali, Mehdi Hajian and Aram Khalili are the cast. Sahar Ebrahimimehr is the assistant director and planner of the 50-minute play.

The troupe had “Do Not Hesitate Horacio” in 2014 in Portugal. It has taken part in international festivals in India, Malaysia, France, Armenia and Poland.
