Algeria Wants Meaningful Relations with Iran Theater
Representative of Algeria’s Culture Minister said that his country was informed of ancient Iran theater but it wanted to know Iran’s contemporary culture more.
Ahcene Talilani, Algeria's supreme representative of culture minister, told irantheater.ir that he was going to deliver speeches on his country’s theater and would get more informed of Asian theater.
Mr Talilani, who is in Tehran to attend the Meeting of General Directors of Performing Arts of Western Asian Countries, said that the event would serve as a chance to give an insight of Algeria’s theater to other countries and become familiar of the theater of the other countries, particularly Iran.
Iran contemporary art was of importance for Algeria, he said and explained that Iran’s ancient culture of theater was known in his country but “we want to have a better insight of its contemporary culture and get to know it”.
Director of Algeria’s theater universities said that Iranian movies were screened in a recent festival in Algeria but no theater pieces of Iran were staged in that country yet.
“Iranian creativity is brilliant. We are willing to watch Iran theater pieces too to establish meaningful relationships with Iran theater,” Mr Talilani said.
On the condition of theater in Algeria, he said that the country had spacious and standard auditoriums. Algeria had 50 provinces with 40m population of which ten million are students, the official said and added that presence of audience is important for Algerian theater.
