Azerbaijan Musical Performances Director:
Regional Countries to Cooperate on International Projects
Director of Azerbaijan Musical Performances said that the participants of the Meeting of General Directors of Performing Arts of West Asian Countries shared experiences with each other and became familiar with the theater potentials of each countries.
Algismat Lalayev told irantheater.ir that theater industry was a sector whose basis was chained to each other. When a country became familiar with theater of another country, it could be effective in this regard.
The official said that such gatherings could have be effective and have positive impacts and added that different directors from many countries would take part in Azerbaijan theater nowadays, which was good. “We can cooperate with each other to initiate and perform international projects.”
Mr Lalayev said that new ideas would pop into minds when the countries share information and it was important for Azerbaijan theater to attend the international festivals because it could be fruitful.
He added that Azerbaijan would host an international festival soon in which 40 important countries and 150 guests including a delegation of senior theater officials from Iran would attend.
The official stressed that theater was of great importance for Azerbaijan government these days and it was supported by the state, adding that the country had 26 state-run theater.
