Call for 22nd Red Tulip Theater Festival

Ali Bazgir, head of Andimeshk Culture & Islamic Guidance Department, told irantheater.ir in Khuzestan province that 22^nd Red Tulip Theater Festival would be held in February in Andimeshk with the participation of 12 provinces.  

He added that the festival was aimed at promoting the religious culture and teachings by inspiration from Islamic rituals and resistance against violence, terrorism and spreading peace and humane values. Provinces of Esfahan, Islam, Bushehr, Charmahal-Bakhtiari, Khuzestan, Fars, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Kohlikoyeh-Boyerahmad, Lorestan, Markazi and Hamedan would take part in the festival.

 The festival would have competition in its stage section with the theme of martyrs defending Syrian holy shrines, epics of the Islamic Revolution and Sacred Defense (Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988, folklore and religious rituals and traditions and a non-competition section of street theater, Mr Bazgir said.

The applicants are requested to submit works in a CD, which includes the information such as writer, director and play in word, five images of the piece in jpg to the secretariat at the following address; Andimeshk Culture & Islamic Guidance Department, Delpazir Street, Zibashahr Avenue, Andimeshk, Khuzestan province, Postal Code:371. The submissions must be made by January 4 and the festival will take place in Andimeshk from February 6-9.
