Cooperation with Iran Will Grow Iraq Theater

Ahmed Hasan Mousa al-Saedi, Iraq's Art counselor of Cinema and Theater of Ministry of Culture and Touris said after the Meeting of the General Directors of Performing Arts of West Asian Countries and singing a memorandum of understanding with the participants in Tehran (October 30-November 1) that it was his first visit to Iran.

He told irantheater.ir that he had never imagined that Iran would have been so civilized with such ancient heritage.

The official said that Iran had spacious, fully-equipped and beautiful theater auditoriums such as City Theater and Iranshahr Theater.

Iran theater was so advanced, he said and reminded that he had watched two good pieces in equipped theaters, which was welcomed by Iranian audience.

On the MoU, which was signed by the West Asian and North African countries, Mr Al-Saedi said that the agreement would pave the ground for next steps and more countries would join it.

He said that Iraq theater would jumpstart if it could bolster ties with Iran, expressing gratitude to the Islamic of Republic of Iran and the Dramatic Arts Center for hosting the event.

Further theater cooperation with Iran was one of the wishes of culture and art officials in Iran, he stressed, adding that the two countries had joint theater productions in the past.

"We hope this cooperation will increase to help us in improving civil and cultured life," the official stressed. "Iran and Iraq cooperation is limited to Iraqi Kurdistan but we hope such cooperation would occur for other ethnicities in Iraq."
