Theater Officials Insist on Bolstering Ties

Theater officials of Iran and Spain hold talks on establishing bilateral theater and artist cooperation.

Mehdi Shafiei, director general of Dramatic Arts Center of the Culture and Islamic Guidance, and Mehrdad Rayani-Makhsous, the center's director of international affairs met  for three days in Spain with secretary general of UIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette - International Puppetry Association), Idoya Otegui and head of TOPIC to hold a series of cultural and theater talks.

Alireza Esmaili, Iran's cultural attaché to Spain, took part in the meetings to have debates on topics such as exchange of dramatic productions, educational workshops and theater week in Spain and Iran.

Iranian officials hold talks with Baque cultural officials, mayor of Tolosa, director of Spain National Drama Center, San Sebastián or Donostia cultural center, theater director of San Sebastián, directors of theater schools and Basque performing moves and some Spanish theater directors.

An exhibition of puppets by Zahra Sabri was inaugurated by Mr Shafiei in Tolosa's International Puppet Centre (TOPIC). The exhibition will go on for the next six months.
