A Fantasy & Love Play

“See Colorful Dreams”, which is written by Masoud Shahkarami, was read on Wednesday at Mashahir Hall of the City Theater, irantheater.ir reported.

“See Colorful Dreams” was the fifth among the top ten plays of the 35th Fadjr International Theater Festival. It is a love story set in a fantasy world. The characters create a strange island in the beginning. Everything is great there until Paria –a girl whose lover had passed away recently – wants to commit suicide. When do the people ask her why? She says because I do not have any problem here. Everybody wants to discourage her but she does not listen until Falaj (paralysis) would come and tell her not to commit suicide and she does not.  

This is the first scene of the play. Shahkarami introduces Falaj, who falls in love. He is different from other Falaj of the world. He has strange reactions whenever he drinks pomegranate juice, he loses his hairs. Whenever he falls in love, he gets smaller and smaller until he dies.

About his play, Shahkarami says he has always loved to write a love play and he has been trying to include classic love poems into the dramatic literature.

He added that his play does not have any social concern and is about love, which can be raised in all times and periods.

The characters are read by Mohammad Seddigh-Mehr, Aida Sadeghi, Mahnaz Zabihi, Vahid Montazeri, Tina Bakhshi, Nikan Rastqalam and Massoud Shahkarami. The play reading will close Thurday, November 17.
