Payman Majidi to Iran Theater:
Two Dostoyevsky International Awards for Iran

Author of “Raskolnikov’s Revelations with R.G. Dave in the Galley of Hell” said his play received an honorary diploma and best modern adaptation of Dostoyevsky in Russia.
Payman Majidi, author and one of co-directors of “Raskolnikov’s Revelations with R.G. Dave in the Galley of Hell”, said that his show, which is an adaptation of “Crime and Punishment”, was staged in International Dostoevsky Chamber Plays Festival in Straya Russa on November 11 concurrent with the birth anniversary of the legendary Russian writer, irantheater.ir reported.
He added that the show received two awards from the festival an honorary diploma and best modern adaptation of Dostoyevsky.
On the festival, Mr Majidi explained that International Dostoevsky Chamber Plays Festival, which was created in 1992, was being held for 24 years. Its 2016 edition took place on November 6-12 to award productions featuring works by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, the great Russian writer, which was born on November 21, 1821.
“Raskolnikov’s Revelations with R.G. Dave in the Galley of Hell”, he said, was staged in the festival with private sponsorship after a video of the show which was performed in Da Theater in 2015 was submitted to the festival.
Mr Majidi said that he had written the play and co-directed it with Sabina Shyiari. The cast includes Hesam Manzour, Ramin Sayardashti, Amin Tabatabaei and Rojin Rahimi.
