Armaghan Behdarvand: Theater a Passage of Nations Beyond Borders

Armaghan Behdarvand, managing director of Iran Dramatic Arts Association, issued a message to the gathering and hoped it would take a step towards sublimation of theater capacities of the country, especially theater of provinces, irantheater.ir reported.

The message reads, “Theater, this ancient art, has always pictured wishes and ideals of nations, ignoring [differences] in language, race and color. The theater is the stage of curiosity and inquisitiveness. It is a stage, wishing peace and happiness for all on the geographical maps. It criticizes anger and violence to create the most beautiful pictures. Theater, today, is the passage of the nations and the cultures who are concerned of reaching a common identity beyond borders. It is an identity that can put “love and mysticism” the two lost [needs] of the painful humans of today under its name in the simplest way. Now, we have the chance to sit close to the noble artists of theater in “Conference of Top Works of Provinces Theater Festival”. I wish this would be another step in sublimation of the capacity of theater of this land and deepen the theater, especially in provinces. The artists undoubtedly are concerned about promoting their theater teachings regardless of who would win the top awards. This event serves as a bridge for all theater artists to benefit from. We enthusiastically welcome all respected directors and esteemed directors of Iran dramatic arts associations.”

The event will take place on December 4-15 at Mashahir Hall of the City Theater in Tehran.
