Armin Tayeb, Director in Conference of Top Works of Provinces Theater Festival:
Live Performances Better than Videos of Shows
“The Most Honest Murderer” tells the story of a hitman who feels he has not done one of his mission correctly and has killed a wrong person.
Armin Tayeb Naeemi is the director of “The Most Honest Murderer”. He told Iran Theater that his show was written by Afshin Hashemi and he and Sam Kahrizi directed the show jointly from Rasht for Fadjr provincial theater festival.
He explained that “The Most Honest Murderer” pictures a hitman who feels he has an unfulfilled mission because he killed someone wrongly. This creates a mental challenge for him.
On how their show was qualified as representative from Rasht, Mr Tayeb said they rehearsed for a year and performed publicly in Rasht a month ago, which was warmly welcomed by the audience. He added that such enthusiasm encouraged them to compete in Fadjr provincial festival and the show was finally qualified for Provincial Fadjr Festival along with “Ka” by Vahid Amirzadeh.
The director questioned reason behind Conference of Top Works of Provinces Theater Festival, criticizing that the videos of top works were displayed instead of the live performances by the troupes.
He complained that although the conference was aimed at giving the directors and artists a chance to get familiar with each other more, the organizers should figured out on how troupes, which usually had no source of income other than their performance, could afford their costs.
Mr Tayeb scolded officials for failing to pay the income of tickets of his shows when his troupe performed in the province.
A video of “The Most Honest Murderer” was displayed for the jury members and participants of of Top Works of Provinces Theater Festival on Monday.
