Stage, Screen & TV Actress on Her Music Concert:
Marjaneh Golchin: I Feel Empty Moments of My Life with Music

Iran Theater: Marjaneh Golchin is facing a new challenge these days. It is introducing herself as a singer and instrument player to the Iranian women. The actress believes she could handle the challenges despite much difficulties ahead as Ms Golchin had managed to stand on her feet again as an actress a decade ago and became successful.
Ms Golchin says music has always been a part and parcel of her life. Her debut in music should not surprise anybody because she taught lessons of music from her uncle and studied in conservatory of music years before staring her career as an actress.
She will have a music concert- Navaye Golchin- with her elder sister Manijeh, who is a theater actress. She hopes she could be successful in singing.
Ms Golchin, many people are surprised by hearing the news of your music concert as they had seen you as an actress for years. They did not imagine you would have music and singing talents although you come from a family with a bold music background.
I am happy that you looked into my music concert from this perspective. Many suppose that I am starting my music debut out of fun or gaining more spotlight. The music is in my blood. I took intensive music lessons from my beloved uncle (Nader Golchin) years before joining the music field.
If I am not mistaken, you have studies in music conservatoire. Am I right?
Yes. Although I took music lessons unacademically and from the great masters, I was interested to have specialized education in the field. That is why I studied music in the university.
You studied music in the university. But your acting career became more and more serious throughout the years in a way that cast shadow on your music interest.
I often think about those years and asking myself why I could not manage my time properly to chase both in parallel and sacrificed one for the other. I do not know what happened that I chose acting to music. Of course, stage rehearsals and screen activities did not left time for me to focus on music as I wanted. I distanced from music slowly and gradually as far as that this art was faded under the shadow of my career as an actress.
Why have you decided to put spotlight on it?
There are moments in your life that you miss yourself, for what you had really been, for your forsaken interests. I missed music whenever I listened to a beautiful voice or music. I blamed myself and said what did you do to yourself Marjane?!! Until a day I decided to start over and not to regret the past anymore. I have always filled my empty moments with music and I want to share these genuine emotions with my fans.
And did you raise the issue with your sister Manijeh and your uncle master Nader Golchin?
Sure. This decision dates back to years. I wanted to have a joint concert with Amirhossein Modares but I could not. I mulled over methods of having concerts until I reached the conclusion to have a joint performance with my sister who is also a music graduate too.
How could we picture Marjaneh Golchine in the future; an actress or a singer?
I try to move both in parallel in a way that none of them fade the other. It is not easy. But I will do my best. I tell myself sometime that you could start over your acting career after a ten-year hiatus…I feel I can cope all the restrictions and show my capabilities in a new frame.
