Jury Members of Hamedan International Children and Young Adults Theater Festival Named

Karami: I Will Take Responsibility for Bad Festival

Shahram Karami, secretary of the 23rd Hamedan International Children and Young Adults Theater Festival, said that he was not concerned about the festival and he would be accountable if it was not hold properly.

Shahram Karami, secretary of the 23rd Hamedan International Children and Young Adults Theater Festival, said at a ceremony to unveil the poster of the festival in Sayeh Hall of the City Theater that he and his colleagues did their best to properly hold the festival.

The official said that he had no concern about organizing the festival as Mr [Mahdi] Shafiee (director general of the Dramatic Arts Center) welcomed my ideas, irantheater.ir reported.

Karami, who is the secretary of the festival for the sixth time, said that he was involved with the festival more than a decade directly and indirectly and he had always tried to take a step forward.

He described the festival as an opportunity to have a major gathering for artists of the field.  

The festival, he said, would take place in Hamedan from December 12 to 27 in ten categories in 12 auditoriums with 550 Iranian and foreign artists in 50 theatrical troupes and 160 performances.

This year, the festival would mark the 100-year anniversary of the first theater show for the children, which was directed by late Baghcheban, Mr Karami said.

He added that 10 theatrical troupes from Germany, Italy, South Korea, Czech Republic, Russia, Australia, Spain and South Africa will be taking part in the festival.

There are 51 foreign guests and directors of several leading theater companies from Turkey, US, Kenya, Sweden and Algeria.
