Festival Calls Back Children of This Land to Their Identity & Roots

Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, issues a message on the occasion of 23rd International Children and Young Adults Theater Festival, which opened today in Hamedan. He urged the importance of picturing kindness and compassion on the stage of theater, warned that the country’s cultural identity was at stake, calling for making the children of this land to get familiar with their identity and roots through theater festival.
Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, referred to the theme of 23rd festival “A Show of Compassion on the Stage of Childhood”, hoping that this approach could create unprecedented joy and passion among the children in theater auditoriums, irantheater.ir reported.
The message follows;
The effort to provide children and adolescences a bright fate and happiness is one of the most important responsibility of us towards the children of this land. The language of art can serve as the most effective and eloquent medium to develop them and build the future of our beloved country, especially at a time the spread of the information technology has led to major changes in the values ruling the societies and has endangered the cultural identities.
The onus to pass on the noble Islamic and Iranian heritage of the country to the next generation falls on the members of the cultural community who can make a bright future for the Islamic Iran thanks to a legacy of compassion and belief.
They can undoubtedly make dreams and imagination for children and young adults believable thanks to their artistic creativity. This plays a major role in shaping the beliefs and thoughts of this generation, which has high value.
The 23rd International Children and Young Adults Theater Festival with the theme of “A Show of Compassion on the Stage of Childhood” aims to establish a candid environment, which is full of kindness and friendship and create performing arts, which are influential and valuable. It is an event expected to initiate unprecedented joy and compassion in the theater auditoriums to call back children of this land [to know] their identity and roots.
The popular art of theater and its diversified sections have blessed this festival a special status among similar international events. It is per se an effective event in the world international art calendar after its 22nd editions.
I hope this splendid festivity of children and young adults of this land will be held warmly and enthusiastically in theater auditoriums thanks to efforts of theater artists.
The festival will open tomorrow in Hamedan. Shahram Karami is the secretary of the festival. The event will wrap up on December 17.
