More State Support to Develop Poster Section
Ghobad Shiva, a jury member of poster competition of Fadjr International Theater Festival, said that the event would help introduce artists by publishing books and holding an exhibition of top posters but the official support would help boost the section.
The veteran poster designer said that although mounting the exhibition and publishing the book of posters would help artists of the field a lot but the supports must be permanent to witness better results, irantheater.ir reported.
On characteristics of this festival, Mr Shiva said that the participants come from across the country in this edition, showing that many poster designers have become interested in the festival. He added that the quality of submitted posters was not high.
On ways of submission, Mr Shiva said that the published posters had been submitted for the judgement in previous editions, which was the best way but the artists had to send digital copy of their works due to budget shortage, which was not proper.
He suggested the official to allocate some budget for transportation of posters to improve the condition for the judgement.
People, he said, see the poster before the theater piece, meaning that it can play an important role in increasing the audience.
Mr Shiva stressed the need for launching a museum for theater posters to encourage designers of the field.
