Director of Dramatic Arts Center: Theater Has Potentials to Identify & Institutionalize Citizenship Rights

City, Citizenship & Theater Research Conference, which is a side plan of the 35th Fadjr International Theater Festival, opened on Tuesday, irantheater.ir reported.

Mr Shafiee opened the conference in which researchers would deliver speeches on their papers, saying that the topic of city and citizenship was an important matter of the modern world which would demand many debates.   

Referring to President Hassan Rouhani’s release of Citizenship Rights Charter last week, the official said that Fajdr festival should take the coincidence as good omen.

He added that each citizen had certain rights, which should have become familiar with them and the responsibility to make them familiar with their rights goes on the government.

Director of Dramatic Arts Center said that city was not a collection of houses and apartments rather a population of citizens whose spirit would improve if there would be due attention to the field of culture.

“Theater has the capacity to be effective in identifying and institutionalizing rights of citizens,” he stressed.

Mr Shafiee hoped that the conference would pave the ground for putting such topic on debate among theater community.

Qotbeddin Sadeqi, Saeed Asadi, Mahdi Shafiee, Shahram Karami, Asghar Hemmat, Ramtin Shahbazi, Mohammad Hossein Naserbakht, Mahmoud Farhang, Ali Akbar Abdolalizadeh were among renowned figures attending the conference.
