Saeed Asadi in a Ceremony to Unveil Poster of Fadjr Int’l Theater Festival

This Year’s Poster Invites People to Social Interaction

Poster of the 35th Fadjr International Theater Festival was unveiled on Wednesday.

The ceremony to unveil the poster of the 35th Fadjr International Theater Festival in attendance of Saeed Asadi, secretary of the festival, Ghobad Shiva, veteran graphic designer, Payman Shariati, director of the City Theater, Kayvan Nakhaei, director of Public Relations Office of the Dramatic Arts Center, Atabak Naderi, Mostafa Mahmoudi, Jalal Tajangi, Ali-Akbar Abdolalizadeh and a group of artists and media persons. Fahimeh Panahazar, director of Public Relations Office of the City Theater was the presenter of the ceremony, irantheater.ir reported.

Saeed Asadi, secretary of the festival, said that this edition’s poster was designed consistent with that of the previous one to help define a visual identity for the festival.

Mr Asadi added that the social responsibility of art and the society was among serious debates of the festival, which should have been reflected in the poster.

In this line, the festival has started a campaign “I Am the Voice of Water” to raise awareness about water shortage in the country, he explained, adding that also paying tribute to the artists with sight and hearing losses was other objectives of the festival.

The secretary of the festival said that the design of the poster was seeking the idea of theater for all, adding that inviting people to social interaction in an empathic atmosphere was among priorities of the poster.

Mr Asadi noted that theater was one of the fields, which take a deep look into the human community, describing Fadjr theater festival as an opportunity for national solidarity and sympathy, which could help establish a higher social participation by theater.

In a video screened in the ceremony, Abbad Mahboubfard, designer of the poster, explained details of his design.

Mr Mahboubfard explained how he had designed the poster asymmetrically, using mask as an objective sign of theater, employing Iranian motifs, international signs of sadness/happiness and images of people from all classes of the society. 

Then, Mr Shiva unveiled the poster as Iran’s veteran graphic designer, criticizing the color of the poster as cold.
