122 Multi-National Participants to Read

Homer's Odyssey in Fadjr International Theater Festival

A group of readers will take part in the marathon reading of Homer’s epic Odyssey in the international section of the 35th Fadjr International Theater Festival.

The marathon reading of Homer’s epic Odyssey is a group reading by people of different layers of the society, irantheater.ir reported.

The music will be played in the gathering by local and international groups along with the reading. Greek music instruments will also be played.

The marathon reading is set to have 200 readers in a multinational atmosphere. But 122 people in different age brackets and various vocations including sportspeople, politicians, media persons, students, schoolchildren and kids have so far registered to read the splendid epic by Homer. The Odyssey will be read in different Persian accents and international languages.

Those registered to read the epic will receive their text part to rehearse. Audience will have a venue to listen to the reading. Participants can choose their accents and language in ticket section of the site at

The reading will take place at 12 am-8 pm on Thursday, 26th January in the main hall of the City Theater in Tehran.

The event is co-organized by the Embassy of Greece in Tehran and Elliniko Theatro.  

The 35th Fadjr International Theater Festival will take place from January 20-31. Saeed Asadi is the secretary of the festival.
