Theater Forum Managing Director Talks about Funeral of Mr Khosrawi
Rokneddin Khosrawi Will Be Buried in Iran

Rokneddin Khosrawi, instructor, author, actor and stage director, passed away in London on Monday morning.
Asghar Hemmat, managing director of Theater Forum, told Iran Theater that debates were underway to bring the body of master Khosrawi for burial in Iran.
Mr Hemmat explained that paper works were done to take the body of Rokneddin Khosrawi to Iran.
He added that his burial in Tehran’s Beheshte Zahra Cementry was a demand of the country’s theater community and his family. However, the cooperation of Britain was needed to meet the demand, the artist stressed.
Khosrawi was one of the most influential figures in Iran contemporary theater as he trained many students and directed lots of pieces, which would be etched in the theater history of Iran, Mr Hemmat said, adding that his absence could not be filled.
“It is a source of regret that Khosrawi left Iran and did not live in the country for close to two decades,” Mr Hemmat said. “It was a loss for the country.”
