Fadjr International Theater Festival Opens with Commemoration of Martyrdom Fire-fighters
Mahdi Shafiee: Artists Always Alert to Social Incidents

The 35th Fadjr International Theater Festival inaugurated on Friday with the opening of photo, poster and visual identity exhibition and commemoration of the firefighters lost their lives in extinguishing Tehran’s Plasco high-rise on Thursday.
Photo, poster and visual identity exhibition of the 35th Fadjr International Theater Festival opened on January 20 in Nami and Bahar galleries of Iran Artists Forum, public relations of the festival reported.
Mahdi Shafiee, director general of Dramatic Arts Center, Majid Rajabi Memar, managing director of Artists Forum and Saeed Asadi, secretary of the festival, Mahdi Afzali, head of the Contemporary Arts Development Institute and a group pf photographers and graphic designers attended the opening of the exhibition at 4 pm on Friday, irantheater.ir reported.
The participants commemorated the martyred fire-fighters and prayed for their souls in the beginning of the ceremony.
Referred to the bitter event, Mahdi Safeei said that artists had always felt accountable to social incidents.
On the official inauguration of the festival, the official said he was pleased with the opening of the exhibition, stressing that posters and photos help preserve the festival.
Saeed Asadi said that it was a strange day as the Fadjr International Theater Festival, which was a symbol of the victory of Islamic revolution and art, was inaugurated; the country was mourning sacrifices of its fire-fighters.
The secretary of the festival stressed that the section was among main parts of the festival while visual identity section was newly-added to the event.
Seventy posters by 42 graphic designers, 17 visual identity works by 21 graphic designers and 70 photos by 55 photographers are taking part in the festival.
Reza Kianian, Seifollah Samadian and Abbas Kowsari were the jury members of the photo section.
Ghobad Shiva, Maziar Tehrani and Majid Kashani were the jury members of the poster section.
Ebrahim Haghighi, Amrollah Farhadi and Alireza Mostafazadeh were the jury members of visual identity section.
