Hamid-Reza Azarang on Fadjr International Theater Festival:
Performed Pieces Minimize Trial & Error

The Fadjr International Theater Festival acts like a window to Iran theater, giving an opportunity to theater lovers to see the works, which have performed throughout the year, again and minimizing the trial and error.
Hamid-Reza Azarang, Iran’s noted stage actor and director, said that Fadjr Theater Festival owes its status to Iran theater so “we should recognize the status of the country’s theater first”, irantheater.ir reported.
Director of “Hoteliers” and “2 Liters x 2 Liters Peace” said that theater had never received due attention from officials and had been an isolated art in the country because its officials had not been as significant as the country’s art.
Mr Azarang added that annual change in the secretary of Fadjr International Theater Festival would lead to ups and downs in policies.
On financial woes facing the art, the actor said that too much emphasis on ticket sale in recent years pushed theater community to think more about income, which is not the mission theater is supposed to do.
The 35th Fajr International Theater Festival will close today. Saeed Asadi is the secretary of the festival.
